End Sounds, Inc. (Media / Entertainment) In June of 2001 I co-founded the record label End Sounds. At End Sounds I manage business strategy, consumer marketing, and channel marketing for compact discs, vinyl, and digital releases as well as negotiate distribution, licensing, and television/film placements. I have played a wide variety of roles (including Lead Architect and Developer on the End Sounds web site) taking the label from concept to being distributed by Sony/RED, KOCH, and currently by EMI/Caroline. The University of Texas at Austin (Media / Entertainment) To facilitate the absorption of course material, I designed and developed a series of in-use literature course DVDs as teaching aids. The DVDs were used in over five courses to assist in the education of 140+ students. I also provided technological assistance and delivery medium advice to university professors. Truepunk.com (Media / Entertainment / Online Community) In 1998 I founded, developed, and ran one of the largest punk music portals, resources, and community sites on the internet until it was acquired. The site, Truepunk.com, had a vast repository of content including multiple interviews with legendary bands (e.g. Ramones), hosted the official forums/messages boards for well known musicians in the genre (e.g. Bouncing Souls, Saves The Day, Senses Fail, Shai Hulud, etc.) and employed unobtrusive monetization techniques such as through a partnership with AOL's Tacoda to gather behavioral advertising information. The original site was programmed in Cold Fusion and Perl. Blue Elephant Boutique (E-Commerce / Retail) The Austin, Texas based boutique needed an industrial strength overhaul of their web based storefront and a logo and branding refresh. For Blue Elephant I implemented a new e-commerce system that included a shopping cart, integrated e-mail newsletter management, and a CMS (Content Management System) so the staff could maintain the online storefront on their own without any coding or development knowledge. Blue Elephant employees can maintain inventory information, track revenue over time, and provide shipment tracking information to customers. Copeland "Walking Downtown" Music Video (Media / Entertainment) Sometimes you just need help choosing the right person for the job. For Copeland's "Walking Downtown" music video I paired director Daryl Golberg with The Militia Group (record label). The video was nominated for an MTVU Woodie Award and I received a a executive producer credit and DVD commentary mention for my role in matching resources.
